Our next Volunteer Preparation Course will start in September 2019, on Thursdays for 6 weeks, 9;30am - 2:30pm.
The course is designed to prepare you for your role in supporting families within their home. You will learn within a welcoming, relaxed and safe environment and the course will include group discussions and activities.
Some of the topics covered by the course are:
- An introduction to Home-Start
- Key elements for Home-Start volunteers
- Family life and supporting parents
- Commitment and boundaries
- Supervision and support
- The importance of play
- Core Policies: Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities, Confidentiality
